Daily Life Tips
Men must dress well to exude confidence, appeal, and charm. But contrary to popular belief, dressing well doesn’t mean wearing expensive clothes and the latest fashions. It’s all about what you choose and how you wear them. Here are some simple fashion rules to help you easily become a stylish gentleman. So stick to these rules and up your style quotient with ease!8 Simple Fashion Rules Every Man Should Follow
1. Choose grey over white to pair with a white dress shirt
Most men wear a white vest under a white shirt. But wearing a vest of the same color will show through. A grey vest, on the other hand, is usually less noticeable because it actually absorbs the light. It doesn’t show any underwear lines through the shirt, creating a cleaner, more gentlemanly look.
2. Smartly roll up your sleeves to make your shirt cuffs visible
Forget the old way of rolling up your sleeves and try this new smart technique to show off the inner details of your cuffs! Start by unbuttoning your cuffs and long sleeves. Now pull your cuffs to about double their width. Grab the end of the turned-over sleeve and roll it up to the bottom of the cuff. Roll up your sleeves again, leaving the cuffs a little visible. And you're done!
3. Hate the puffy feeling of tucking in your shirt on the sides? Try this!
Simply tucking your shirt into your pants/trousers will result in some extra fabric puffing around the waist, similar to a muffin top. Of course, you can prevent this by tucking in your shirt properly. Grab the hem of your shirt, pinch the excess fabric at the side seams, and fold it back and tuck it into your pants. This will hide the extra fabric and is especially useful for baggy shirts.
4. Find the perfect fit with this trick
Believe it or not, 90% of men wear jeans that are the wrong size, either too big or too tight. But finding the perfect fit is not as hard as you think. Just check if you can fit two fingers comfortably between your hips and the waistband of your jeans. If you can, then you have found the right size!
5. Choose the right length of shorts
Not too long, not too short - that's how shorts should fit. So, don't wear shorts that are below the knee or too short. The perfect choice is shorts that hit the knee or no more than 2-3 inches above the knee.
6. Never wear white socks with any formal or casual outfit
There is no reason to wear white socks unless you are exercising outdoors or going to the gym. White socks are sportswear and should not be worn with any casual or formal outfit - especially a suit. So, wear white socks only when you are working out, and buy a few pairs of dress socks to match your formal shoes and outfits.
7. Never tuck in casual shirts and polos
Casual shirts and polos should be untucked. They fit the torso better and don’t have the extra fabric like a classic-fit shirt. But make sure they are cleanly proportioned. The length of the shirt or polo should not exceed the hips, otherwise, it is recommended to tuck in the waistband of the pants to avoid looking nerdy.
8. Say no to deep V-neck shirts
V-necks are great, but they look tacky on men. So, if you like V-necks, remember this rule of thumb: the hem of a V-neck shirt should not be lower than 2-3 inches below the collarbone.
